Austin "Roach" McCoy is a minor character in the first film played by Tom Tarantini. He is a car thief who got arrested and brought into the Poho County police station for stealing a '76 Chevy Nova. He was brought in while the Jenners were present and being booked into his cell. He gazes at Trish, who is on the phone, while a police officer is escorting him to his cell. When the power goes out, an officer comes in to take a head count of the inmates, Roach was sleeping and looks up and questions the officer and wanting the light off, a prisoner sleeping below him flicks off the officer. Roach did not seem at all aware that the Creeper broke into one of the cells and eating one of the prisoners few cells away from him. It was unknown if he awoken and became alert when the officer opened fire at the Creeper. It is also unknown if Roach was one of the prisoners that got injured or killed by the Creeper when an officer was communicating to Officer Tubbs on walkie-talkie saying they got one officer and few prisoners "down."
