Kenny Brandon is a victim of the Creeper during his hunting cycle in the spring of 1978. He is the son of Gaylen Brandon and the uncle of Addison "Addie" Brandon. This is the Kenny Brandon mentioned in the first film. After being killed by the Creeper, he appears to his mother as a ghost during the Creeper's present-day hunting cycle in 2001 to warn her of the upcoming threat. The sheriff later explains that this is in fact the same Kenny Brandon from the first film who went missing with his girlfriend, Darla.
Biography[]
The film opens in Spring of 1978, Kenny drives by with his truck as a man with a machete is runs in front of him and asking for his help. Before Kenny could help him, however, the Creeper quickly grabbed the man and flies away right in front of him. Kenny gets out of the truck and looks up as the man was flown away, the Creeper's hand and the machete that severed it falls from the sky and onto Kenny's truck.
It cuts to 23 years later in Spring 2001, he is revealed to be dead as he visits his mother, Gaylen to warn her of the Creepers return and that he plans to come to the farm to take "what it wants" from the farm. He tries to warn her what the Creeper is capable of and tells her that the Creeper will kill anyone present at the farm and begs her to leave. Gaylen refuses to leave, and Kenny tries to insist to leave for her and Addie's safety. She tries to deny even believing Kenny is really there, but he tries to tell her that he is now a part of the Creeper. He turns around and leaves showing Gaylen the stitching and scars on his back and rear, implying what the Creeper took from him.
Gaylen digs to find out what Kenny left behind before the Creeper took him, Kenny appears one more time. Kenny tells her the Creeper got Addie and that she needs to leave the farm as the Creeper still plans to come to the farm to take back what is his, she shouts at him to go away. She unearths the Creeper's severed hand. She touched the hand and gets picked up and put in a trance to show her everything about the Creeper. When Dan Tashtego, Officer Tubbs and the task force shows up, she tells them about how Kenny got possession of the severed hand and the night he died. She described that night he seemed very angry and told Gaylen to stay in the house and he was carrying his shotgun. Kenny shoots the hand and buries it and sometime later the Creeper came and took him.
Trivia[]
- This Kenny is not the same Kenny Brandon who was also murdered by the Creeper in 1978 with his girlfriend Darla. This is likely an error on the films part as this film was a change from the original plans for a Jeepers Creepers 3: Cathedral, which was supposed to star an older Trish Jenner from the first film and the Taggarts from Jeepers Creepers 2.
- This also means these are the only 2 characters in the franchise to share the exact same name.
- Kenny is actually the first victim of the Creeper to communicate with a living person on-screen and timeline wise. The third film takes place before the events of the second film but after the first film.
- The deceased Darry Jenner talks to Minxie Hayes in Jeepers Creepers 2 to warn her of the Creeper, making him the second person to communicate with the living.
- Kenny was likely the first to know of the Creepers origins as he likely had the same experience as Gaylen before burying the Creeper's severed hand.
- It is implied that Kenny is Addie's uncle, despite no mention of Kenny having siblings or who Addie's parents are, it is at least known that he is Gaylen's son and Addie is Gaylen's granddaughter. Addie does not know Kenny and she is only about 16-17 years old. Since Kenny died 23 years prior to the events in the third film, it would not be possible for Addie to be his daughter. Since they share the same last name, Kenny likely has a brother, who would be Addie's father.
- It could also mean that Kenny's death was so traumatic and damaging to Gaylen, that the family members make it unspeakable to Addie.
