Jeepers Creepers 2[]
Scotty was riding in the back of the bus on the way back from the Bannon Bantams winning the high school basketball state championship game. Unlike everyone else on the bus, Scotty was in a bad mood. His girlfriend, Rhonda Truitt, suggested he was upset because he had not gotten much time to play. After one of the tires is blown out by the Creeper, he insults Deaundre "Double D" Davis by telling him he sucked at the championship game that the coaches should make him change the tire as punishment.
Scotty was listening with the rest of the students on the radio as they talk about the Poho County news about what was found at the House of Pain. Scotty appeared to feel mortified of the story but when his teammate Dante Belasco asks if he believes it, Scotty denies. While the adults were radioing for help, Scotty was seen on the roof of the bus sunbathing with a few of the guys and laughs with Dante and the others at Kimball "Big K" Ward who was scared off by the crows after his pee break at the field.
After about an hour of waiting for help, the adults decided the bus could "limp" them home. Night falls and with most of the team asleep, Rhonda tried to console Scotty. He confesses how upset he is that he only played for 12 minutes and that he was one of the reasons the team made it to the state championship. Scotty made an off remark that he likely didn't have the right skin color to get equal playing time on the team and referred to Coach Dwayne Barnes as the "token white boy" on the team. Double D overhears this as he knows Scotty is also talking about him negatively saying that the black players, even the ones that didn't deserve to play gotten to for their skin color. Scotty sees D eavesdropping and shouts at him.
The twin tire blows out, disabling the bus completely, driver Betty Borman orders everyone off the bus. However, Betty wanted everyone back on the bus when she discovered that another shuriken had caused this tire to blow similar to the first one and gets a bad feeling. Shortly after, Coach Charlie Hanna was abducted by the Creeper with no one seeing it happen but that he dropped his flare. Scotty is heard questioning where Hanna is, but Coach Barnes calmly told Scotty to lead everyone back on the bus, which Scotty did.
After Betty was abducted and several of the students saw it, Coach Barnes came and stood in the door, trying to figure out what the students saw. To which Jake Spencer could only answer, "she flew away." Scotty yells at Jake asking what is that supposed to mean. When Barnes orders everyone to sit down as he is about to go back out to investigate, Scotty glares at him and begins to argue with him, still angry about the basketball game. While Barnes was standing in the door, trying to tell Scotty it is not the time to discuss it, the Creeper suddenly grabs Barnes. Scotty tries to hold him down and save him with a couple other students, but the Creeper was too strong and got away with Barnes, Scotty dropping and falling onto the pavement. The students all panic to get in the bus and close all the windows. Scotty's face was covered in blood from the fall as they all question what he saw took Barnes. He was at loss of words and panicked with D asking him twice then Rhonda trying to, Scott finally shouts and said he does not know but that is had big wings.
Almost an hour later, Andy "Bucky" Buck is trying to use the CB radio to call for help. Izzy Bohen, a student rumore to be gay, searched for possible weapons. When he discovered javelins, Scotty took issue with him using them as a weapon. Scotty then thought with the creature being gone for a while, this is a good time to get off the bus as there seems to be a farm not too far from them and they could go for help. Plenty of students disagree with him as they do not know what they are dealing with, and it is too dangerous. Scotty gets angry and was being called out for not thinking of everyone's safety aware some might not make it. Izzy and Scotty then get into a fight where Scotty made homophobic comments towards him which nearly led them to blows. When Scotty put his hands on Izzy, Double D stepped in and grabbed Scotty's shoulder. Scotty threatened Double D and releases Izzy, turning his attention to Double D. While arguing, Scotty called D "bro", but D recognizes Scotty's tone and gesture and dares Scotty that he wanted to call D a black slur instead. As the two were arguing, Rhonda intervenes to break them up but soon gets interrupted by a spooked Minxie as she spots the Creeper sniffing about on the bus, scaring the students and stopping the fight.
They all hid in between the rows, but the Creeper scaled the bus and sniffed the windows. Scotty and Rhonda see the Creeper across from them as the Creeper detected Jake hiding just beneath him, glaring at him with interest then climbing above the bus. Scotty furiously asked Bucky to drive the bus on its rim, but Bucky claimed they wouldn't get within two feet. They all looked to the emergency exit, and the monster looked at them while hanging up-side-down. He winked an eye at Dante, then smiled at Scotty, who told Jake to turn the flashlight off it, then moved out of the way for Minxie, who got smiled at also. She moved out of the way for Bucky, who got a bang signal. Bucky stepped aside for Big K, but The Creeper signaled for him to step aside without much interest, and ended up staring at Double D. The mockery face he had suddenly changed to a serious stern look, as if he had found something rare in Double D. The Creeper took a deep sniff and licked the window. Then he shook the bus, breaking the screw off the exit in the process. Scotty ordered Bucky to get ready in opening the doors in case The Creeper comes in through the emergency exit, but The Creeper just took off. They all sigh in relief, but Minxie passes out in Scotty's arms, and her eyes roll completely back.
When Minxie came to, the students wonder what the creature was doing before it left. Minxie told them it had picked them out and that there was something in some of them that it likes. When asked how she could know that; she informed them that she was told by a dead boy in her dream. Scotty immediately disparaged her, commenting that she was smoking something. She told them about the Creeper, a demon that comes out of the earth every twenty-third spring, for twenty-three days to eat. Scotty berates her, questioning how a cheerleader could become a psychic out of nowhere and Rhonda tells him to just listen to Minxie. Minxie continues to say after the 23 days of hunting is up, it will go away and hibernate for 23 years before starting all over again and that it does not matter where they hide and that it will find the ones it picked out.
In a lucky break, Bucky patched through to someone who promised to call the police and to come and help them.
Everyone cheered at Bucky, but the celebration was cut short as The Creeper's hand tore through the roof and grabbed Bucky's head. The Creeper was stopped, however, as it was jabbed through the head by Rhonda. The Creeper struggles to get it off, but does so by tearing half its head off to which D sees as soon as the Creeper shows himself. The Creeper staggered, and took off momentarily, vanishing in the night. Then seconds later the creature crashed into the bus, shattering all the windows except for the emergency exit, front door windows, and windshield. They saw one of the Creeper's wings at the window, prompting Izzy to peek through the hole the Creeper had made previously and saw the Creeper passed out over the roof.
Scotty ordered the doors open so they could escape, however the doors were jammed shut. Izzy realized that the Creeper was trying to keep them trapped in the bus the whole time instead of trying to get in. When one of the Creeper's wings falls through a hole in the roof, the students in the back of the bus attempt to get around the wing to the front of the bus. Dante got caught by the wing, allowing the Creeper to decapitate him and to devour the student's head to replace its own. The Creeper tore its own damaged head off and the Dante's consumed head comes out of its stomach to form and takes place as the new head. After the head forms as the Creeper's own head, it flies away.
Scotty then props open the front door and decides it's time to stop being polite. He tries to persuade the others, for everyone else's safety, the students the Creeper has picked out should leave the bus. He indicated that Double D, Jake, Bucky, Minxie, and Dante were all picked, pretending he is not one of the chosen. Everyone is protesting his idea, mainly the picked out he calls out and even Rhonda. He then asked for a show of hands to vote that the surviving of the Creeper's selection to leave the bus. Angrily, Double D attacked Scotty and held him down to the ground. Scotty tried to push back but was pinned. D mentioned how the Creeper had picked Scotty also and everyone saw it. He then challenged Scotty to stay on the bus now that the Creeper left a big gaping hole from the crash and see how long he lasts, hoping the Creeper going for Scotty would give D the opportunity to be far enough away for help and escape.
Many of the students follow D and leaves the bus, including Rhonda. A frustrated Scotty also follows to ask Rhonda to come back, but she yells at him and calls him out for his selfishness. She lectures him on how someone being afraid is like being drunk, their true selves come to the surface. However, Izzy spots the Creeper up in the sky watching over them and points it out to everyone, causing the students to run back to the bus. However, Jonny Young remained on the bus the whole time and refused to let anyone back on, Scotty can be heard threatening to fry Jonny if he does not open the doors. Jonny still refuses to open them. The Creeper begins to swoop down to the bus, forcing everyone to run out to the fields, including Scotty.
Death[]
Scotty was running from the Creeper and tried to get the group to split up. As he passed by a tree to break off from the group and catch his breath the Creeper threw a dagger at his left arm. The dagger impaled Scotty to the tree, Izzy and Rhonda frantically try to pull the knife out of Scotty's arm as he yells out in pain. D witness this and runs to his aid, trying to get Scotty still as he tries to get the dagger out. Scotty and D sees the Creeper coming towards them, Scotty begins to panic and apologize to Double D for his behavior on the bus and cried for them to save him. D was able to pull the dagger out, but the Creeper swoops in, blowing D, Izzy, and Rhonda away and grabbed Scotty and flew off into the night.
Personality[]
Scott is often shown to have a very selfish personality. Even before being terrorized by the Creeper, he shows plenty of insecurity because of not being able to have enough play time for the championship game and would not celebrate with his team for at least winning. When the Creeper began to disable and terrorize the bus, he still acts very nasty towards Coach Dwayne Barnes over the game when it was not the right time and place and continues to also lash out on Double D for being given a better play time and claiming he played terribly. His selfishness is harshly called out by Rhonda when he tries to get the few the Creeper picked out off the bus. Rhonda calls out how him being afraid is just like someone being drunk, as their true person comes to the surface. Scotty only cared about himself and keeping himself alive even if it meant screwing everyone else over, which ultimately becomes his undoing.
He also demonstrates to be very racist and prejudice as he makes race-based assumptions about him not being allowed to play enough. He vents to Rhonda about this believing he is not the skin color to play with the black Coach Hanna calling the plays and a black teammate Double D being granted more time to play, even though Scott thinks he performed terribly. Double D accuses Scotty of wanting to call D a black slur based on Scotty's tone and gesture when he called D "bro." The prejudice remark was not only limited to D but at Izzy's expense also. Izzy is rumored by the team to be gay and Scotty in the heat of the argument brings Izzy's sexuality into it when the argument was supposed to be about everyone sticking together until help arrives.
Trivia[]
- Scotty's fate may not be fully known as he was abducted but he did not die on-screen and it is questionable of the time that gone by between his abduction and the Creeper coming back in his next scene on the bus to abduct Bucky a 2nd time.
- It is likely, however, that Scotty did die as his actor did confirm in behind-the-scene and on the script stating that his character will be the last to die.
- Despite the Creeper being the antagonist, Scotty also had an antagonistic role to the rest of the characters for the desire of only looking out for himself where others believe they need to stick together to defend themselves from the Creeper.
